Movie Distribution

After the production of a film, the film is now released to the cinemas or to consumer media such as DVD etc, or a direct download from a provider.

Duplication for the film is completed as required, press kits, posters, and other advertising and marketing memorabilia are published/produced and mainstream advertising commences.

A launch party is typically held with high profile actors, press releases, interviews, and preview screenings.  Most larger films usually have a website.

Playing at selected cinemas, the DVD is usually released a few months after the first screening.

With the distribution rights for the DVD and film sold for worldwide distribution, both the production company and distributor share the profits.
